The Classics Spin #17

This is my first Classics Club Spin. The reason I'm joining in this time is that I'm feeling guilty at neglecting my Classics Club list. This is a great incentive for me to read a classic over the next two months.

The rules for the spin are simple.

Make a list of twenty books that remain to be read on your Classics Club list. As a suggestion, your list can contain five

books you are dreading/hesitant to read, five you can't wait to read, five you are neutral about and five free choice (favourite author, re-reads,ancients etc.)

Before Friday, March 9th, post the list, numbered one to twenty, on your blog. When the number is announced on Friday, March 9th, go to your list and select the book that corresponds to that number. Read that book by April 30, 2018.

See, it's that easy.

Here's my list:

01. Under the Red Robe by Stanley J. Weyman
02. The Trumpet Major by Thomas Hardy
03. Shirley by Charlotte Brontë
04. Barnaby Rudge by Charles Dickens
05. Payment Deferred by C.S. Forester
06. Springhaven by R.D. Blackmore
07. Villette by Charlotte Brontë
08. The Virginians by William Makepeace Thackeray
09. My Love Must Wait by Ernestine Hill
10. The Moonstone by Wilkie Collins
11. Orley Farm by Anthony Trollope

  1. Good luck! I will be taking part in the spin too but haven't posted my list yet. You have some great books on your list - I loved The Black Tulip and The Moonstone.

    1. The only book on my list I'm not looking forward to is Barnaby Rudge. I've had three false starts with it. I'll check out your list when its posted.
