MY REVIEW POLICY

I am happy to receive books to review from authors, publicists or publishers.

My preferred format is print, but I will accept ebooks (mobi file preferred) as I know how prohibitive international postage to Australia, where I live, can be. I do not review audio books.

The opinions expressed in my reviews are my own and from the viewpoint of a reader who reads for pleasure only. I am not a professional review writer and my reviews reflect this. I try to be as honest as I can without being disrespectful, especially when I review books I didn't like, though these, I'm happy to say, are in the minority. If I dislike a book to the extent I cannot find anything positive to include in a review, I will contact the author/publicist/publisher with my reasons.

I can't give a guarantee as to how long it will take me to read and review your book, as this blog (and book reviewing) is my hobby and life has a habit of getting in the way. I don't work to a strict timetable, but can meet a deadline if need be.

In addition to this blog, my reviews are posted on Goodreads, Amazon (US and Australia), Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. I am happy to post on other sites if requested.

To help with the promotion of books, I also participate in blog tours, various memes and reading challenges.

A quick look at my blog will give you an idea of the kind of reviews I write and the types of books I read. My preferred historical periods are those spanning the times of William the Conqueror (1066) to World War II. My particular favourites are the Napoleonic Wars, World War I, World War II and the inter-war years (1919-1938). Occasionally, I'm persuaded to stray out of my timeline and genre.

Happy Reading!

Yvonne
