AUSSIE AUTHORS 2015

This challenge is hosted by Book Lover Reviews.
Challenge period: 1st January to 31st December, 2015
Sign Up: Anytime during the year

The aim of this challenge is to promote the work of Australian authors, male and female. All the information and how to join is here on the sign-up page.

There are three levels of participation in this challenge:

WALLABY
  • Read and review three titles written by Australian authors, of which at least one of those authors are female, at least one of those authors are male, and at least one of those authors are new to you;
  • Fiction or non-fiction, any genre.
WALLAROO
  •  Read and review six titles written by Australian authors, of which at least two of those authors are female, at least two of those authors are male, and at least two of those authors are new to you;
  • Fiction or non-fiction, at least two genres.
KANGAROO
  • Read and review 12 titles written by Australian authors, of which at least four of those authors are female, at least four of those authors are male, and at least four of those authors are new to you ;
  • At least 6 fiction and at least 2 non-fiction, and at least two titles first published in 2014 or 2015.
After some consideration, I've decided to opt for the Wallaroo level, because it will take me out of my usual genre of historical fiction.

Here is my initial list, to be read in no particular order. All the authors are new to me and cover three different genres: historical fiction, children's fiction and contemporary women's fiction. The titles will be linked to my reviews when written.

01. IN FALLING SNOW by Mary Rose Macoll (historical fiction)
02. A DISSECTION OF MURDER by Felicity Young (historical crime fiction)
03. A FATAL TIDE by Steve Sailah (historical fiction) (read in January)
04. PAPER PLANES by Steve Worland (children's fiction)
05. SOUTH OF DARKNESS by John Marsden (historical fiction)
06. THE TEA CHEST by Josephine Moon (contemporary women's fiction)(read in April)
